A schedule only helps if both people can see it. When the numbers live in one shared place, nobody has to ask "did you get my payment?" again.

How the math works

This calculator uses standard amortization, the same method banks use. Each payment is the same size. Early payments are mostly interest, later payments are mostly principal, and the balance reaches exactly zero on the last payment. At 0% interest it simply divides the amount by the number of payments.

Simple vs amortized interest

Some families use simple interest instead: a flat percentage added once, split across the payments. That is easier to explain but can cost the borrower more or less than amortized interest depending on the term. Whichever you choose, write it into the agreement so both people expect the same total.

Turn this schedule into a real plan

Kinlend puts the same schedule in front of both of you, with an e-signed agreement and payment tracking.
